Here's What Motivated Desiree to Lose 100 lbs

In December 2014, Desiree dealt with severe depression and stress. She was afflicted by hypothyroidism, a hormonal condition that can slow down a person's metabolism, making it difficult to lose weight. "On most days, I just laid in bed, hating myself," she confessed. "I hated looking at who I was in the mirror. I was tired because of all of the extra weight I had to move on a daily basis to do ordinary tasks."

Food became a source of comfort for Desiree. She ate whenever she wanted to, often ordering fast food late at night. "I hardly ever drank water and my portion sizes were huge," she admitted. "I did no exercise whatsoever, and was very sedentary."  Desiree would consume three big meals on an average day, but she never exercised and hardly ever slept.


Desiree joined PumpUp at the end of 2014 in an attempt to make a complete lifestyle change, and she did just that. Over the past 11 months, Desiree lost 100 lbs, going from 250 to 150 lbs. "I started [with PumpUp] because I wanted to  have a healthy and happy lifestyle," she remembered. "I have been using PumpUp for one year now. I am happy, healthy, and have more energy than I know what to do with. All of my physical and mental obstacles are demolished, I no longer have hypothyroidism, and my resting metabolism is fantastic as well. Depression is a thing of the past. I love me."


No longer reliant on fast food, Desiree makes sure that her diet is well-balanced and full of fruits and vegetables. She drinks a gallon of water on a daily basis and exercises up to 6 times a week, sometimes fitting in two workouts in one day. Desiree also maintains a much healthier sleep schedule, often taking in 7-8 hours of rest every night. "[Moving forward, I hope] to continue my journey and be a part of the PumpUp community," she mentioned. "[I want] to share my new progress and get inspired and pumped up."

Desiree's Best Advice

Just start. There's no easy way. It's going to be hard and you're going to have bad days, but just stick with it. Just get started.

I love booty and ab routines and challenges. For my cardio, I usually do HIIT Tabata style and a run 3x a week.
