How Erica's weight loss journey is inspiring others on PumpUp

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Erica's body. She had already been on her weight loss journey for a year before she joined PumpUp, but decided to take a break from exercising. "On a good week, I was going to the gym three times a week before the break," she shared. Erica decided that the PumpUp community could help her to get back into the habit of exercising more often. "I joined PumpUp in June after hearing about it on YouTube," she revealed. "I thought the concept of the app was genius. I had to be a part of it."

Over the past year, Erica officially lost 50 lbs by cleaning up her diet, exercising, and changing her mindset. "It has been a great journey inside and out," she mused. "My daily routine definitely involves checking PumpUp multiple times a day! I work out 5-6 days a week with home workout programs and still eat clean. And I have so much support from my PumpUp family." Erica primarily loves the PumpUp community for the motivation and encouragement that other members give to her. "My biggest motivation would be all of the 'ordinary people' that I've seen on social media," she added. "I know personally [that they have] made the commitment to lose weight and were successful. They are constant reminders that you can do whatever you put your mind to. I can’t stop because it’s the only way I’ll reach my goal and I WILL get there!"

Whenever Erica opens up PumpUp, her favorite thing to do is to leave positive comments for other community members. "[I like to] look for posts, especially from people who are struggling," she revealed. "I encourage them to keep going because I've been there. I know that sometimes, all it takes is a push from someone else, even a complete stranger. My goal is to reach as many people as I can with my message: you can do it. I know it sounds so cliché, but I truly want people to look at me and know that because I did it, they can do it too."


Erica's best advice for other PumpUp members

Just do it!! You will come up with every reason not to. Don’t listen to that negative voice in the back of your head saying you can’t. You owe it to yourself to be as healthy as possible. It will hurt, it will be tough, you will want to give up. DON’T. Turn your excuses into stepping stones. You have no idea who you’re inspiring. The formula isn’t complicated at all. Do the work, don’t give up, see results!

My favorite would have to be Cize because I love to dance.  I fell in love with it so much that it made me want to become a Health and Fitness Coach!
