Nathan traded weekly partying for healthier habits and here's what happened

Partying like a rockstar sure sounds glamorous, but it isn't sustainable for anybody's health. Before Nathan joined PumpUp, he confessed that his lifestyle involved very little exercise, lots of junk food, and weekly parties. "I stopped playing football," he admitted."It's a sport that I love and have been playing from a very young age." Nathan was inspired to become a member of the PumpUp community in May 2014, in time for the FIFA World Cup held in Brazil. Over the past few months, Nathan made a complete transition towards a healthier lifestyle. "[I] have changed both mentally and physically," he confirmed. "I'm no longer out [partying] each and every weekend, I exercise at least 3-4 times a week, and my eating habits have become a lot more solid." Rather than relying on fast food to keep himself full for the day, Nathan allows himself occasional indulgences while maintaining generally wholesome eating habits. He didn't rely on a diet, nor did he cut certain food out completely. Instead, Nathan found the right balance by focusing on small and gradual lifestyle changes. "Overall, I'm feeling great and I'm in a much better place than the time prior to PumpUp," he expressed. "[What's more], I recently started to play football again."

It wasn't easy for Nathan to ease into a routine filled with regular exercise and healthy eating habits. "I wasn't in the greatest shape, but I had good people around me at home," he explained. "[They] encouraged me. Of course, when I joined PumpUp, I quickly got a lot of support, [even though I was only] on there for a short period of time. My confidence has also grown, which is something that I lacked while I was growing up. I owe a lot of people for their support during my fitness journey. I wouldn't be where I am without them and PumpUp." Nathan packed on a lot more muscle and improved his strength and overall athleticism since he joined the PumpUp community just over 1 year ago. "It's not about having the best body, but being the best version of you."

Moving forward, Nathan aspires to enhance his present and future quality of life and he urges other PumpUp members to maintain their own healthy habits. "I'm closer to my goals than I was yesterday," he shared. "I've had my setbacks and doubts, but PumpUp has kept me going. There are so many physical and mental benefits to leading a more active lifestyle [if] anybody is considering it."

Nathan's Biggest Motivation

I'm most motivated by the ones who I hold dearest, as well as memories of being doubted [from when I was younger].

Nathan's biggest obstacle

When I was around the age of 3-4, I somehow managed to pull the TV of a stand onto my leg. This resulted in a hairline fracture!

Nathan's workout routine

My current workout routine consists of interval and resistance training. I train 2 days on then 2 days off. In-between all of that, I like to go on jogs and walks, do some core workouts and practice my favourite exercise: skipping.

Nathan's potential superpower

Time travel would be cool, but there's so many to pick!
