What a raw vegan eats in a day

Ever wondered what on earth a raw vegan eats in a day? PumpUp member @rawincollege has answers:

I enjoy mixing things up on a daily basis, so I am going to give you a general idea of what a day in my life looks like through food.

Right after I wake up in the morning, I like to drink about 1 liter of water, sometimes with the juice of half of a lemon. This gets your digestive system moving and your metabolism going early in the day! Drinking enough water is extremely important and vital to your overall health for various reasons.

(Some benefits of lemon water: it contains vitamin C, which gives your immune system a boost–it is an excellent source of potassium–aids in digestion and weight loss–cleanses your system–keeps your skin clear–reduces inflammation–to name a few!!)

About 15 minutes later, I like to have one of these options for breakfast:

Melon is perfect for breakfast because it is an additional way to get hydrated in the morning! I usually have about 3-5 cups of a mix of watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe on a daily basis. Eat to your heart’s content!–melon is high in water concentration and low in calories…not to mention, delicious! Other great options for breakfast would be pineapple, apples, grapes, bananas, berries, or a big smoothie! Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day, so eat up!! 

As a college student, it can be difficult to find time for 3 distinct meals throughout the day. Personally, I love to snack, so I have many small meals throughout the day. 

I never set a limit on what I am going to eat throughout the day! This lifestyle is all about abundance. When you nourish your body with what it needs, you don’t have to go crazy and count calories. This is why I am giving you a general idea of what I eat throughout the day–everyone has different appetites and desires! The most important thing to remember is that you should never feel starved and you should always feel satisfied.

I like to start my dinner with a big plate of fruit–whatever is in season or available to me at the time–and a large salad  or zoodles topped with lots of color to ensure I am getting all of the vitamins and minerals my body needs!
