The grocery store is filled with high-sugar, high-salt cereals. I decided to make my own vegan cereal instead— it isn't made with any artificial sweeteners either. This recipe is very simple and quick to make, and it can accommodate almost any diet. The key is to use melted coconut oil and maple syrup to bind and sweeten the mixture.

Pack it up in a nice jar and (if you don't eat it first), gift it to your Valentine or somebody you love.

Easy Vegan Cereal

What you need:

  • 2 cups of oats
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 cup pecans or any nuts
  • 1 cup dried fruits of any kind
  • 3/4 cup coconut oil


Preheat the oven to 350F. In a small pan, melt the coconut oil over medium low heat and pour it in a big bowl. Add all the ingredients (except for the dried fruits) and give it a good stir.

Take a non-sticky baking tray, line it with parchment paper, and spread the mixture evenly. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until lightly browned. Toss the mixture every 2-3 minutes to ensure that the almonds and pecans don't burn. Take the mixture out, stir in the dried fruits, and bake for another 5 minutes. Let the vegan cereal cool completely before serving.
