When you start considering a new fitness routine, it is easy to get overwhelmed with options: from at home routines and apps to finding the right gym for you. Finding your fit can make or break your relationship with exercise.

Making Fitness Work for You

How many of you have bounced back and forth between various programs because it was “trendy” or“popular”? How about fad programs that promise results FAST? I’ve been there and it … never worked out. Why? Because I didn’t enjoy it. It felt forced, I dreaded it, and before mere 2-3 weeks passed,  I fell off the wagon. You’re not alone in this! With an abundance of "try this, not that" advertisements, it can be difficult to figure out what’s “right” for you.

Step back. What are your long term and short term goals? How do you want to feel? Sit tight and think these through.  They can determine the course of your health and fitness journey. In the end, it is up to you to decide what feels best.

Try new things and mix your routine up. Don't let the unknown scare you. I can't imagine how far I would be today if I started this journey sooner. Remember - what works for me, might not work for you. Each person is unique, and that's what makes fitness so fun!

Your Options Are Endless

  • Group Fitness Classes (spinning, yoga, TRX, pure barre, boot camps etc.)
  • Dance Classes
  • Weight Lifting
  • Cross Fit
  • Running
  • Biking
  • Jump Rope
  • Workout Communities (PumpUp, for example)
  • Horseback Riding
  • Hiking

There are many options for you to try! Get outside of your comfort zone, and grab a buddy if you're hesitant about trying different activities. Give everything up to three tries to see if you like it. But if you end up hating an activity, move on and try something else. Class Passes let you try fitness classes at different places every month - which is perfect if you're still finding your fit, and don't want to commit to a membership at a particular studio or gym.

What are you waiting for? Go out there and find your fit!
