Playing cards aren't only for poker. Looking for a creative way to get your heart racing? This Deck of Cards Workout will leave you feeling like a million bucks. Grab a stack of playing cards to get started. If you can make it through an entire deck, you're a rockstar. The rules are fairly simple: assign an exercise to each 'suit'. We chose body-weight moves so that you can do this Deck of Cards workout anywhere you go:
- Spades - Burpees
- Diamond - Squats
- Clubs - Push-ups
- Hearts - Jumping Lunges
The number of reps you should perform for each exercise will correspond with the number of the card that you draw. When you are faced with a King, a Queen, or a Jack, do 12 reps.
For example, if you draw a 10 of Hearts, do 10 jumping lunges.
Shuffle your deck well, take it one card at a time, and stop for 30 second-1 minute rests as needed. Make sure that you are completing each exercise with proper form. Feel free to assign other exercises to each suit. Do this Deck of Cards Workout with a friend, with a family member, or by yourself if you need a study break!
