How To Make A Smoothie Bowl

How To Make A Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls always look picture-perfect - but how on Earth are they made? This video tutorial by PumpUp member @rawincollege demonstrates how to layer all kinds of fruity toppings onto your blended creations. The trick is to arrange everything in concentric circles. To make a smoothie bowl, blend your smoothie ingredients together, spoon it out into a bowl, and level the surface of your smoothie with the back of a spoon. Slice up your fruits and arrange your toppings on the outer edge of the bowl first, before placing another 'circle' of toppings within that circle.

The Best Vegan Chocolate Smoothie Ever

The Best Vegan Chocolate Smoothie Ever

This is my absolute favourite vegan chocolate smoothie of all time. It's a recipe from my first vegan cookbook - it immediately stood out to me and the book has been my companion for almost 2 years. You need to make this vegan chocolate smoothie: it's quick, delicious, and so versatile.

In life, much like smoothies, you get out what you put in. Thankfully, this smoothie bowl requires very few ingredients to be equally as nutritious and delicious for you. All you'll need is one banana and a cup of mixed berries. Add a bit of water or the milk of your choice to make the mixture less thick. Keep these two ingredients on hand with you at all time, and you'll always be sure to make smoothies whenever, wherever. The roster of fruits sand powders that go into other smoothie bowls can make your head spin with dizziness. This recipe is a no-fuss way to fill yourself up with fibre and potassium and drink your antioxidants. If intense sugar cravings hit you hard when the going gets tough, don't panic. This is the easiest smoothie bowl to help you destress.

The easiest smoothie bowl ever

  • Water or the milk of your choice, to taste
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of frozen mixed berries

Toppings

Add liquid into your blender first, followed, by the other fruit ingredients. Pulse until the big chunks of bananas and berries are broken up, then blend until smooth. Pour into a large to medium bowl and top with a sprinkling of granola or the fruit of your choice.

Pro tip: Freeze measured out portions of banana and mixed berries in Ziploc bags so that you always have a smoothie ready, even when you're cramming for a test at 4:00 am.

Blueberry Boost Smoothie Bowl

Blueberry Boost Smoothie Bowl

IMG_4257-2.jpg

This Blueberry Boost Smoothie Bowl is perfect if you feel weak and have low energy levels. If you just woke up from a night out, this smoothie bowl has your back. It’s rich in potassium and contains over 90% of your daily Vitamin A and Vitamin C needs. Blueberries are known for their antioxidants, which maintain your health by decreasing your risk of contracting heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimers, and cancer. I topped the smoothie bowl with leftover banana slices, blueberries, cacao nibs, dried goji berries, and bee pollen. Bee pollen is particularly good for your immune system! Try a bit of it first — you might be allergic to it.

I was really inspired to create this Blueberry Boost Smoothie Bowl because it’s packed with fruits and berries called superfoods. That’s why I incorporated Açai powder, wheatgrass powder, and blueberries into this recipe. To get an even extra boost of minerals, you can add coconut water and make it a regular smoothie.

I really love to develop new smoothie recipes. Sometimes they’re green, purple, and red — but sometimes I mess up the colours and it turns out brown!

With the right ingredients, it isn't difficult to mask the taste of vegetables in most culinary creations. After all, not everybody particularly enjoys munching on leafy greens straight-up at the crack of dawn.  Stay energized in the morning by slurping on something that is tasty and good for you in equal measure. The secret is to overwhelm the flavour of cruciferous vegetables with a tango of other tastes: chocolate and vanilla protein. Nobody would ever be able to guess that there's spinach in your smoothie bowl. Packed with maca, avocado, spirulina, and protein powder, this chocolate berry smoothie bowl is packed with nutritious surprises.

Refuel with this 3 ingredient smoothie bowl

Refuel with this 3 ingredient smoothie bowl

Plank-62.png

Smoothies can still be Pinterest-worthy without the hassle of looking through Kitchen Stuff Plus for mason jars and paper straws.  A new trend has arrived in the world of smoothie preparation. That trend, friends, is the smoothie bowl. Though you may love the efficiency of gulping down a refreshing smoothie after a workout, there's something to be said about taking your time to really enjoy your food and reflect upon every little chia seed swimming through your mouth (we're exaggerating: that's ridiculous, you probably wouldn't do that). So grab a bowl, grab a spoon, and make this honest-to-goodness 3 ingredient smoothie bowl. It's not as complicated as some of the vegan/gluten-free/non-fat/paleo/etc. recipes that you'll see floating around the internet. This 3 ingredient smoothie bowl from PumpUp member ilovemaki is made with simple ingredients for fuss-free preparation.

For the 3 ingredient smoothie bowl

  • 1 pear
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 vanilla yogurt cup (greek yogurt works best if you like a thicker consistency)

For the toppings

  • Chia seeds
  • Tbsp of all-natural peanut butter or nut butter
