“I didn’t go to the pool because I wasn’t happy with the way I looked." Shortly after Alan graduated from high school, he began to make small changes to his lifestyle. “I started out by incorporating healthier foods into my diet, and I went for short walks with my friend, which was a huge deal for me back then, since I wasn’t used to it at all,” he remembered.
After Anna joined the PumpUp community in January 2015, she made a complete lifestyle transition. "PumpUp was an amazing source of motivation," she shared. Healthy eating and regular exercise were hardly priorities for Makayla. "I ate what I wanted and when I wanted it," she remembered. As an overweight child, Trenton was a victim of bullying and the subject of jokes. "It started at the age of 10— I didn't notice it at the time," he recalled. "I didn't care about how I looked. I was just a kid. As I got older, the bullying got worse and I kept getting bigger." The constant derision and laughter about Trenton's weight began to take its toll. "I was a freshman in high school and I was crying myself to sleep at night," he admitted. "My dad got me into fitness and gave me the tools that I needed to lose weight and lead a happier and healthier lifestyle."
